Arriving in Naples by Car – Recommended Parking

Please note that via Mezzocannone, Naples, is located within a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), and we strongly advise against driving into the historic center. Blue-line street parking spaces are very limited and usually occupied. However, there are public parking lots (ANM) that allow for easier and more affordable parking compared to private garages. We recommend checking parking rates and routes in advance, also taking into account the city’s heavy traffic.

  • ANM “Maschio Angioino” Parking: The closest public parking to the conference venue is the ANM “Maschio Angioino” lot (also known as “Castel Nuovo”) near Piazza Municipio. From there, you can either walk (17 minutes) or take Metro Line 1 at "Municipio" station toward "Garibaldi" and get off at the next stop, “Università”. For more information about ANM parking, rates, and schedules, visit: https://www.anm.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1345&Itemid=322
  • FS Park near Napoli Centrale Station (Piazza Garibaldi): Alternatively, you can park at one of the FS Park lots near Napoli Centrale Station: Napoli Centrale P1, P4, or P5. From there, access the “Garibaldi” Metro Line 1 station, take the train toward “Piscinola”, and get off after 2 stops at “Università” station. Then walk 5 minutes to the venue.
  • FS Park near Campi Flegrei Station: The FS Park at “Napoli Campi Flegrei” station is adjacent to Metro Line 2. From Campi Flegrei, take a metro train toward “Napoli S. Giovanni Barra”, “Salerno”, or “Caserta”, get off at the “Napoli Piazza Garibaldi” interchange station, then take Metro Line 1 toward “Piscinola” and get off at “Università”. Walk 5 minutes to the Royal Mineralogical Museum.

Where to Stay

Naples offers a wide range of hotels and accommodations, all easily bookable through major online platforms. However, due to seasonal demand, we strongly recommend booking in advance.

To stay close to the conference venue, we suggest choosing accommodations either near Metro Line 1 stations or within walking distance.

  • Naples City Center: Recommended Metro Line 1 stations: “Toledo”, “Dante”, “Municipio”, and “Museo”. Staying near these stops allows easy access to the conference venue via Metro Line 1 (toward "Garibaldi"). We recommend lodging near via Toledo, Piazza Dante, Piazza Municipio, via Medina, via Pessina, via Diaz, Piazza del Plebiscito, or via Chiaia.
  • Historic Center: Lodging in the heart of Naples’ historic district allows you to reach the conference venue on foot while enjoying some of the city's most iconic streets. Recommended areas: via Mezzocannone, via San Biagio dei Librai, via dei Tribunali, via Santa Chiara, and the area west of via Duomo.
  • Vomero District: This hilltop district is served by several Metro Line 1 stations: “Vanvitelli”, “Medaglie d’Oro”, “Salvator Rosa”, and “Quattro Giornate”. Staying near these stops allows easy access to the conference via Metro Line 1 (toward “Garibaldi”).
  • Mergellina Area – Metro Line 2: Staying in the Mergellina area (via Caracciolo, via Dohrn, Riviera di Chiaia, via Mergellina) offers access to “Mergellina” Metro Line 2 station. From there, take a train toward “Napoli S. Giovanni Barra”, “Salerno”, or “Caserta”, get off at “Napoli Piazza Garibaldi”, and transfer to Metro Line 1 toward “Piscinola”, getting off at “Università”. Then a 5-minute walk to the venue.
  • Fuorigrotta Area – Campi Flegrei Station: Staying in Fuorigrotta, you can use “Campi Flegrei” or “Piazza Leopardi” Metro Line 2 stations. Follow the same route as above to reach the conference venue.

Important: It’s preferable to avoid staying directly near Napoli Centrale Station. Although well-connected, the immediate area may not be ideal for a relaxed stay, especially for first-time visitors.
