Asterism

Asterism: optical effect consisting in a star shaped luminosity (with four, six or more rays) due to the reflection of the light over inclusions or discontinuities in a crystal, regularly oriented to follow its symmetry; the effect is well visible when the cut crystal surface is curve and the crystal is properly oriented.
