Chromite

Chromite: a mineral with the chemical composition FeCr₂O₄. Opaque, with a luster ranging from metallic to greasy and a black color, it crystallizes in the Cubic System and very rarely appears in well-formed octahedral crystals. It is found both in ultrabasic rocks and in serpentinites, and sometimes in secondary deposits.
