Core

Core: characterized by high density, the Core is separated from the Mantle by a discontinuity called the Gutenberg Discontinuity, located about 2,900 km beneath the surface. The Core therefore has a radius of approximately 3,500 km and, based on the phase of its components, is further divided into two concentric shells: the Outer Core and the Inner Core.
