Eclogites

Eclogites: metamorphic rocks composed of Pyroxenes and Garnets, sometimes associated with other minerals such as Amphiboles, which indicate retrograde metamorphism. They exhibit various colors, most often green and red, and have a high density (3.50 g/cm³). Their origin is not well understood; they are believed to be subcrustal rocks from the Earth’s mantle that have risen into the crust due to tectonic processes.
