Geophysics (Earth Physics)

Geophysics (Earth Physics): is the application of physical measures and methods to the study of the physical properties of the planet. It studies the most superficial solid part of Earth, and includes in its research field the identification of proper structures for the accumulation of hydrocarbons, as well as the solution to issues related to civil engineer, hydraulic engineer, mining engineer and the identification of new sources of geothermal energy. Geophysical prospectings (seismic, electric, electromagnetic, radio magnetic, gravimetrical prospectings) represent some physical methods used in the field of geological exploration.
