Geothermal gradient

Geothermal gradient: a value measuring the increase of temperature as a function of depth. On average, temperature increases by 1° C every 33 m of depth. It is supposed that the increase in temperature is so high only in the crust and that temperature stabilises or grows much more slowly in the mantle.
