Healing Fracture

Healing Fracture: a fracture, fissure, or crack within a gemstone that, after the gem‘s initial formation, was infiltrated by liquid solutions foreign to its essential chemistry. As a result of a natural or induced thermal treatment, these infiltrated solutions underwent partial or complete crystallization during the cooling phase, leading to a filling of the fracture—referred to as “healing” or “reparation.”
