Interference colors

Interference colors: colors resulting from the strengthening of some wavelengths of white light and from the weakening or cancellation of others due to the optical phenomenon of Interference. Cause of the optical phenomena of Iridescence (Agate or Iridescent Quartz), of Labradorescence (e.g. Labradorite), of the Play of Colors (e.g. Opal) and Orient (e.g. Pearls).
