Lower Cretaceous

Lower Cretaceous: in the geological time scale, the Lower Cretaceous is the first of two epochs into which the Cretaceous Period is divided. It spans the time interval between approximately 145.5 ± 4.0 and 99.6 ± 0.9 million years ago, preceded by the Upper Jurassic—the third and final epoch of the Jurassic Period—and followed by the Upper Cretaceous.
