Manganese Oxide

Manganese Oxide: a chemical compound with the formula MnO₂. It is an odorless solid ranging in color from gray to black, naturally found in Pyrolusite, the primary mineral source of Manganese. It is also present in Manganese nodules on the ocean floor. Widely used in the brick and glass industries, it is the starting material in chemistry for producing potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) and other Manganese compounds.
