Methylene Iodide

Methylene Iodide: a colorless, flammable, toxic liquid that turns dark when exposed to light, with a density δ = 3.32–3.33 g/cm3 and refractive index n = 1.745, used both for approximate density determination as a Heavy Liquid and (with sulfur and tetraiodoethylene added) as a contact liquid in refractometry.
