Mica

Mica: a general term referring to any of the minerals belonging to the Mica Group: Biotite, Muscovite, Phlogopite, Zinnwaldite, Lepidolite. The first three are important components of igneous and metamorphic rocks. The latter two are typically found in Pegmatites. All micas display flat surfaces with a characteristic shimmer due to their perfect cleavage and tabular crystal habit, often with a vaguely hexagonal outline.
