Molybdenite

Molybdenite: member of the Molybdenum group, along with Molybdite, Powellite, and Wulfenite. Its chemical composition is MoS₂. Opaque, with a metallic luster and a lead-gray color with a violet tint. It crystallizes in the Hexagonal System and occurs in rare hexagonal, flat crystals or in scaly/foliated aggregates. Found in veins and granitic rocks.
