Monorefringence: the property of amorphous materials (non-crystalline, in the colloidal state or in the glassy state) and minerals that crystallize in the Monometric Group (Isometric or Cubic or Monometric System) have, of transmitting the light refracted in them at the same propagation speed (within the medium) and with unchanged vibration (according to all directions normal to the propagation direction), for any considered direction. Monorefracting substances show, therefore, no polarization of the light transmitted in them.
