Phosphoric Acid

Phosphoric Acid: containing phosphorus or related to phosphorus; phosphoric acid is a tribasic oxyacid (H3PO4), a white crystalline solid in its pure state. It naturally occurs as phosphates and phosphatides and is primarily produced by treating tricalcium phosphate with sulfuric acid. It is used, among other applications, in the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers, for protecting ferrous products against rust, as an opacifier in the glass industry, and as a mordant in the textile industry.
