Pyrrhotite

Pyrrhotite: a mineral also known as “magnetic Pyrite.” Chemically, it is an Iron sulfide with the formula FeS. Opaque, with a metallic luster and brownish-yellow color. It crystallizes in the Hexagonal System and occurs in rare, small tabular crystals as well as in irregularly foliated aggregates. It is found in veins, basic plutonic rocks, and more rarely in metamorphic rocks.
