Secondary Minerals

Secondary Minerals: Non silicate minerals. They are divided into various other classes based on their dominant chemistry including Native Elements, Sulphides, Halides, Oxides and Hydroxides, Carbonates and Nitrates, Borates, Sulphates, Phosphates and Organic Compounds. Most of non Silicate mineral species are rare (accounting for a total 8% of the Earth’s Crust), even though some are relatively common as Calcite, Pyrites, Magnetites, Haematites.
