Three-Phase Inclusions

Three-Phase Inclusions: inclusions characterized by the presence of three different materials, generally in different phases—solid, liquid, and gas—as seen in Colombian emeralds, where saline liquid-filled cavities contain one or more gas bubbles (usually Carbon Dioxide) along with one or more crystals of Calcite or Halite (rock salt).
