Titanium

Titanium: transition chemical element with the symbol Ti, atomic weight 47.88, and atomic number 22. In its compounds, Titanium can occur in the +2, +3, and +4 oxidation states; the tetravalent form is the most stable. A white-colored metal, it is extremely lightweight, corrosion-resistant, has low thermal expansion, high mechanical strength and resistance to weathering, is non-magnetic, and exhibits good biocompatibility.
