Verneuil, August Victor Louis

Verneuil, August Victor Louis: born on 11/03/1856, died on 04/27/1913. Professor of Applied Chemistry at the Natural History Museum in Paris. As early as 1886 he began his experiments on the synthetic growth of Ruby using the Flame Fusion Method and achieving a concrete result in 1892. He filed a patent at the Academy of Sciences of Paris in 1891/1892 and publicly announced its discovery in 1902.
