Gabriele Giuli is an associate professor at the University of Camerino, where he teaches Mineralogy. He works on the synthesis and characterization of crystalline and amorphous materials and characterization of the structural surround and oxidation state of transition elements by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Synchrotron Light Society (SILS).
