Giulia Marras is a PhD student at the Department of Earth Sciences of Sapienza University of Rome.

In 2022 she was awarded with the Dr. Eduard Gübelin research scholarship for her project “Mineral inclusions trapped in diamonds help to understand the oxygenation of the Earth’s interior through space and time”.

Her research is mainly focused on the investigation of mineral inclusions in diamonds using innovative synchrotron-based techniques such as X-ray tomography, diffraction, Mössbauer and nanoFTIR, combined with thermodynamic modelling and high pressure and temperature synthesis experiments.
