Nicola Precisvalle received his Ph.D. in Earth and Marine Sciences from the University of Ferrara in 2022 and is currently a research fellow in Mineralogy and Crystallography at the Department of Physics and Earth Sciences at the same University. His research activity focuses on the structural and chemical characterization of crystalline materials.

His research work to date has focused on the role of OH/F substitutions in topaz, the geochemical variability of trace elements, and the resulting relationships between structural features, surface reactivity, and chemical environments among different geological settings. He has also collaborated in the study of other materials of gemological and archaeo-gemmological interest.
