Synthetic Spinel

Synthetic Spinel: an oxide of Aluminum and, Magnesium with the formula MgAl₂O₄, crystallized synthetically in the Cubic System using the “Flame Fusion” method as well as “Flux Fusion.” It has slightly higher refractive index and density values compared to its natural counterpart, due to a different Aluminum oxide/Magnesium oxide ratio than that of natural Spinel.
