Orthomagmatic Genesis: see also Magmatic Process – Crystallization Phases. This refers to the process of mineral and rock formation during the solidification stage of magma (Orthomagmatic Phase), typically occurring at temperatures above 750 °C.
- Typical minerals: Zircon, Apatite, Titanite, Quartz, Biotite, Feldspars, Amphiboles, Pyroxenes, Olivine, Chromite.
- Massive intrusive rocks (slow cooling at depth, coarse-grained texture): Granites, Diorites, Syenites, Gabbros.
- Effusive rocks (rapid cooling at the surface, very fine-grained or porphyritic texture): Porphyries, Rhyolites, Trachytes, Basalts.
