The partnerships between football and synthetic diamonds continue. After Barcelona FC it’s Benfica’s turn

The “diamondification” process is making great strides on the (football) field. The partnership between the esteemed Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Brilianto has resulted in the “Diamantes da Luz” collection, honouring the 120-year history of the Portuguese club. This collection is based on the use of carbon mined directly from the ground of the iconic Estádio da Luz, the symbol of football.

The collection offers 1 and 0.5 ct diamonds, with specifically designed pieces, bracelets and pendants plated in silver and 18 kt yellow gold. The nature of the stones is certified by IGI and the real innovation lies in the introduction of authentication via blockchain and NFT, which offers an even more exclusive experience.

José Simão, Director of Retail, Licensing and Merchandising at Benfica, emphasised the unique opportunity for fans to own a jewel that embodies the club’s greatness.

At the same time, Brilianto has consolidated its leading position in this specific branch through licensing agreements with prestigious clubs, such as FC Barcelona. One example is the “Eterni Spotify Camp Nou 1957” collection, which produces synthetic diamonds from the ground of the last match played at Camp Nou before its renovation.
