Throughout the month of May 2026, professionals, collectors, and enthusiasts navigate a trade show landscape that alternates between manufacturing tradition, mineralogical research, and innovation in design. In Europe, the calendar opens with GemGenève in Geneva, followed just a few days later by Oroarezzo 2026. The journey then continues in Germany with MineralienWelt Idar-Oberstein 2026, before returning to Italy for Verona Mineral Show 2026.

In Asia, the month begins with the 18th edition of the Hyderabad Jewellery Pearl & Gem Fair 2026 in India, and concludes with a key stop in Kobe for International Jewellery Kobe 2026.

Europe: From Arezzo to Idar-Oberstein

Oroarezzo – Arezzo, Italy (May 9–12, 2026)

Oroarezzo 2026 returns from May 9 to 12 at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, reaffirming the central role of the Arezzo gold district in international production. The focus here is firmly on manufacturing and industrial capability, with a strong presence of companies specializing in mass production and private label. From gold and silver craftsmanship to finished jewelry and cutting-edge machinery, the offering is comprehensive and representative of Italian know-how, creativity, and innovation.

Within the fair, Precious Fashion debuts as a new themed exhibition area, accompanied by a program of talks and meetings dedicated to the fashion accessories supply chain. Alongside this, the winning pieces of the Première competition are showcased in a specially curated setting designed to highlight their design quality and creative value.

Verona Mineral Show 2026 – Verona, Italy (May 22–24, 2026)

A well-established event in the Italian scene dedicated to minerals, gemstones, and fossils, Verona Mineral Show opens its doors to the public from May 22 to 24, 2026, for its 74th edition. Characterized by a strong educational approach, the show successfully engages not only professionals but also a broader audience, positioning itself as a space where commerce and learning coexist.

The atmosphere is that of a large exhibition combining market dynamics with collecting passion, with particular attention given to the aesthetic appeal of the materials on display. The Verona Geological and Mineralogical Association organizes activities for both adults and younger visitors, including hands-on workshops such as fossil extraction from rock, as well as lectures and forums led by experts and university scholars.

MineralienWelt Idar-Oberstein 2026 – Idar-Oberstein, Germany (May 16–17, 2026)

The historic European capital of gemstone cutting, Idar-Oberstein, once again hosts MineralienWelt, a show dedicated to the world of minerals, rough gemstones, and fossils, which since 2010 has attracted a diverse audience ranging from collectors to scholars and enthusiasts.

The 2026 edition, scheduled for May 16 and 17 at Messe Idar-Oberstein GmbH, stands out for its traditional themed exhibition, which changes every year. This year’s focus is on tourmaline: its varieties, colors, and history will take center stage in a dedicated exhibition path set up in the “Tourmaline Hall”, designed to highlight both the scientific and aesthetic qualities of the gemstone.

GemGenève confirms its status as an international salon for high-end jewelry. Taking place from May 7 to 10 at Palexpo in Geneva, the event is distinguished by its intimate and highly specialized atmosphere, where dialogue between gemstone dealers, antique jewelry experts, and independent designers plays a central role.

Beyond its commercial dimension, the show is notable for its strong cultural component, featuring conferences, seminars, round tables, and “Touch & Feel” workshops that invite visitors to engage directly with the materials. The result is a refined environment in which jewelry is presented not only as a product, but as a cultural and historical object.

Hyderabad Jewellery Pearl & Gem Fair 2026 – Hyderabad, India (May 8–10, 2026)

In Asia, the month of May opens with the Hyderabad Jewellery Pearl & Gem Fair 2026, now in its 18th edition. Set within one of India’s leading hubs for the pearl and gemstone trade, the fair reflects the vitality of the local market and its growing integration into international circuits.

The event stands out for its strong commercial focus and the breadth of its offering, ranging from loose gemstones to finished jewelry, with particular emphasis on colored stones and pearls — key elements of Indian tradition. Over the course of three days (May 8–10), more than 220 exhibitors and over 450 brands create a dynamic environment enriched by conferences, awards, and targeted business programs.

International Jewellery Kobe 2026 – Kobe, Japan (May 14–16, 2026)

International Jewellery Kobe 2026 is defined by a balance between technological innovation and refined aesthetics, reflecting the distinctive qualities of Japanese taste. The event takes place from May 14 to 16 at the Kobe International Exhibition Hall, in a highly professional and business-oriented setting.

Positioned as the leading jewelry trade show in Western Japan, IJK presents fine and fashion jewelry, loose stones, pearls, diamonds, and technical materials within a single space, alongside components and tools for production.

One of its most notable features is the opportunity to directly compare quality, design, and pricing in an environment that encourages swift negotiations and decision-making. Visitors — primarily buyers and industry professionals — can purchase even single pieces or small lots, making the fair accessible to emerging businesses and independent designers as well.
