From April 17th to 19th, 2025, Lahore will host HEMS 2025, an internationally renowned event organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). This trade fair will bring together exhibitors and professionals from around the world, serving as an outstanding showcase for Pakistan’s industries in engineering, mineral resources, and healthcare. It also offers valuable networking and business development opportunities.
The Role of Gems and Jewelry at HEMS 2025
One of the most anticipated highlights of the fair is the Gems and Jewelry Exhibition, an exclusive section dedicated to Pakistan’s rich gemological heritage. The country, known for its extraordinary variety and quality of gemstones, boasts the world’s fifth-largest gemstone reserves, with over 800,000 carats of rubies, 87,000 carats of emeralds, and 5 million carats of peridots.

Pakistan’s mineral wealth includes high-value gemstones such as tourmalines, garnets, aquamarines, spinels, pink topaz, sapphires, kunzites, and lapis lazuli, many of which are primarily exported in raw form. Currently, more than 80% of gemstone trade involves uncut stones, leaving significant room for growth in the jewelry manufacturing and processing sectors.
On April 17th, 2025, during the fair, a special presentation on gems and jewelry will take place, featuring industry experts discussing the latest trends and market opportunities in Pakistan’s gemstone sector.

A Strategic Event for Industrial Growth
HEMS 2025 will not focus solely on the gemological sector; it will provide a comprehensive overview of various industries. The fair will host exhibitors from agricultural and electrical machinery, automotive solutions, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, surgical and chemical instruments, construction materials, and mineral resources.
A special highlight will be the Mining Investment Pavilion, a dedicated space where international investors can explore collaboration opportunities with Pakistan’s mining industry. The extraction sector, which plays a crucial role in the national economy, benefits from a highly skilled workforce and a growing industry aimed at increasing the added value of its natural resources.

At the same time, Pakistan remains a major importer of precious metals and jewelry products. Key imported items include gold, silver, and jewelry, with raw gold imports alone exceeding $14 billion in 2019.
