Acquire the gemological skills needed to work in the industry at a professional level, without necessarily reaching the most advanced levels. Gem-A is banking on the growth of this new demand and is launching GemIntro, a basic gemology qualification, exclusively online, customized for those who wish to gain basic knowledge and possibly progress in their career in gemology. The target audience is found in the retailing, manufacturing, jewelry design and mining fields. GemIntro consists of 30 hours of online learning and can be completed via a dedicated web platform over six months. To obtain the “Ofqual” Level 2 qualification certificate, GemIntro participants will need to recognize, recall and show an understanding of basic gemological principles; understand the properties of common gemological materials and have a basic knowledge of common gemological treatments, imitations and synthetic materials.
