After the success of the first edition of the Workshop dedicated to fluid and melt inclusions, this year the Lanza Hall of the Botanical Garden of Palermo, Italy, will host the “Second Italian Workshop on Fluid & Melt Inclusions”. The event will take place on November 12, 13, and 14, 2024, and will feature additional collaborations, including those with the National Institute of Volcanology and Geophysics (INGV) and the Plinius editorial team for the publication of a book of abstracts with DOI. Young students, researchers, professors, professionals, and enthusiasts involved in the world of fluid and melt inclusions are invited to participate.

“Fluid and melt inclusions, tracers of geodynamic processes”, “Fluid and melt inclusions as tracers of deep and shallow magmatic processes”, “Resources and reserves, fluid and melt inclusions as an investigation method for exploration”, “Fluid inclusions in gemological materials and cultural heritage”: these are the themes of this year’s workshop, which will be presented by experts from various Italian universities, such as Francesco Maria Lo Forte (University of Palermo), Simone Costa (INGV Pisa section), Andrea Maffeis (University of Milano Bicocca), Pierangelo Romano (INGV Palermo section), Gabriele Carnevale (INGV Palermo section), Federico Casetta (University of Vienna), Alessia Borghini (AGH University of Krakow).

The conference, organized by Francesco Maria Lo Forte, aims to bring together gemologists, students, and enthusiasts in three significant days, focusing on both scientific and commercial aspects. To register for the conference, it is necessary to fill out a form starting from July 22, 2024, until October 15, 2024, the closing date for abstracts and registrations.
