The Gem-A Conference 2025 will take place in London on 1–2 November 2025, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel St Paul’s, bringing together gemmologists, researchers, and professionals from around the world. Organized by the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A), the event will feature two days of lectures, discussions, and workshops focused on analytical innovation, sustainability, and ethics within the gem trade.
Among the confirmed speakers are Helen Molesworth (jewellery historian and museum curator), Purvi Shah (De Beers Group), Robin Hansen (Natural History Museum, London), Daniel Nyfeler (Gübelin Gem Lab), Çiğdem Lüle, Rosie Young, Rachelle Turnier, Eloïse Gaillou, Isabella Pignatelli, Sarah Steele and Richard B. Drucker, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies, under the direction of Cath Hill, CEO of Gem-A.

Topics will range from museum gem collections and Mogok sapphires to updates on demantoid garnet, the use of artificial intelligence in gemmology, and sustainable mining and traceability practices.
On 3 November, the program continues with technical workshops at Gem-A headquarters, including sessions on optical properties, colour grading, synthetic materials, and practical laboratory analysis. Delegates will also enjoy exclusive guided visits to the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum.
